The Skagit Commission works diligently to ensure we are well-informed in our decision making processes. Grant making and strategic initiatives focus on five areas:

• Environmental Education
• Watershed Integrity
• Recreation

Education programs in the Upper Skagit are encouraged and well supported with multi-year funding commitments. Although the COVID season, Skagit River flooding and numerous wildfires have caused program interruptions, SEEC is thrilled that access to the Upper Skagit has been restored. Educational programming continues at International Point, inclusive of First Nations and Tribes, in BC Parks and the North Cascades National Park Service Complex!

SEEC supported programs are happening with Hope Mountain Centre, based in Hope BC as well as North Cascades Institute, based at their Environmental Learning Centre at Diablo Lake, WA.

In early 2026 SEEC will release a new video resource to help tell the story of the Upper Skagit and the Commission!
