Today I was looking for a reading on the water level of Ross Lake. I learned, it’s low. Like, about 11 feet lower than last year. So I thought I’d scrounge around on social media accounts where SEEC connects with numerous people who hike and paddle on and around Ross Lake. They often post photos. Surely there would be a visual representation of the data I gathered from the USGS Ross Dam monitor here.

Well, I came across photos by Eric Tsoi. You may know (of) him. Eric lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and has gathered images from so many places that I’ll admit, an hour went by as I travelled with him for a minute. I’m grateful for Eric’s generosity in sharing the images for us to highlight here. You can find Eric’s Skagit photos here. These Skagit images capture the quiet beauty one experiences when you have time to sit, stare and not think about moving along in a hurry. On one of the photos you’ll clearly see that Ross Lake is clearly in the US and not flooding into Canada at this time.

Will these images motivate you to visit the Skagit before snow forces the closure of the access road? I’m very motivated!
