The only driving route into the Upper Skagit watershed is via Hope BC’s Silver Skagit Road. You could call it the ‘human headwaters’ of the watershed. Hope BC volunteers recently committed two days to cleaning up the accumulated junk that included abandoned RV’s, burned out shelters, car wrecks etc. A number of local business contributed with heavy machinery, bins and trucks to move the garbage away.

A fine example of locals taking matters into their own hands, so to speak, to affect a positive outcome!
