USA Alternate Commissioner

Diana Bob

Diana is an attorney with Native Law PLLC, a tribal-member, woman-owned firm in Bellingham. Diana’s more than 15 years of legal practice have been focused on Indian law, environmental law, and public policy at every level. Notably, working on behalf of the Lummi Nation she was instrumental in the prevention of permitting the construction of the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal at Cherry Point on the Strait of Georgia just north of Bellingham. This would have been the world’s largest coal export terminal, virtually on the international border.

The Lummi Nation was the lone authority that could instigate this huge environmental victory. Diana has worked throughout the Pacific Northwest advocating for the rights and welfare of Tribes and Tribal members through consultation and litigation with Federal, State, and local government entities. Most recently, Diana has been appointed by the Washington State Attorney General to serve on the Washington Truth and Reconciliation Tribal Advisory Committee.
