Anna Warwick Sears
Anna Warwick Sears is the Executive Director of the Okanagan Basin Water Board, promoted to this position in 2007, from the position of Water Stewardship Director. Before that she was the Research Director for the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation in Sonoma County, California.
Dr. Sears works occasionally as an adjunct university instructor, having taught at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and Sonoma State University. Dr. Sears currently sits on the International Osoyoos Lake Board of Control, appointed by the International Joint Commission. She is also on the UBC Faculty of Applied Science Dean’s Advisory Committee. Formerly, she was a board governor of the Real Estate Foundation of B.C. from 2014 – 2020, appointed by the B.C. Minister of Finance. She also served as a Member of RBC Blue Water Project’s Technical Advisory Committee; and a Member of the Province of B.C.’s Technical Advisory Committee on the modernization of the Water Act.
Dr. Sears holds her Bachelor of Science (Ecology) from Sonoma State University, and her PhD in Population Biology from University of California Davis where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. She has also completed the Capilano University Certificate in Local Government Administration.
