Something we think about alot is that SEEC is not a typical nonprofit. And SEEC is different how?

SEEC is a Commission, established by an international Treaty between the United States and Canada with a specific job: fund real projects on both sides of the border in the Upper Skagit Watershed.

Most organizations are in the business of raising awareness. Their social media exists to build a crowd, recruit more people who feel connected to their cause. SEEC’s focus is different. Our job is to fund real work in ecosystem science, environmental education, watershed integrity and recreation.

Our job is to fund real work in ecosystem science, environmental education, watershed integrity and recreation.

So when we post something such as a story about a funded project, a photo from Ross Lake, a note about our new Commissioner, we’re not measuring whether you liked it. We’re hoping you may be involved in the Upper Skagit and might consider applying for project funding.

Consider this your invitation! Do you have an idea? Apply for funding, or reach out to SEEC’s Canada or USA Secretariats. Their emails are on the application page.
