North Cascades Institute, Mountain School Teacher Guide, 1998

Participants camp for three days and two nights in a reserved, public campground while participating in hands-on learning activities and hikes led by environmental educators, park rangers and others dedicated to helping young people discover the wonders of the natural world.

Mountain School is an outdoor education program operated by North Cascades Institute in North
Cascades National Park. Students come to the North Cascades with their school class, teacher and
parent chaperones to learn about the forest ecosystems, natural and cultural history through
immersion in the environment that they are studying.
