About the Staff
Chris Tunnoch - Canada Secretary
Chris has provided the Canadian support function to the Commission since 2000. Her career with the BC Government began as an Interpreter and Backcountry Ranger with BC Parks. Since then she has worked in various capacities of protected areas management, including environmental education, public relations, promotions and outreach. She is currently the Manager of Strategic Initiatives for the Ministry of Environment based in the Lower Mainland. Chris enjoys the range of projects being undertaken in the watershed and highly values the international relationships created through her work with the Commission. As you might expect, she enjoys any activity outdoors.
Scott Powell - U.S. Secretary
Scott is a native of Anacortes, in the lower-most Skagit Basin. His professional career has centered on Seattle, including an advanced degree from the UW School of Marine Affairs and development of the Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center on the Seattle waterfront. For the past nine years at Seattle City Light, he has worked primarily on salmon recovery planning and habitat projects in the Snohomish River Basin. Off work, when not roaming the Cascade river valleys, Scott is often at home in the wood-shop, garden or kitchen.
